Rebecca is an award nominated voice and on-camera actor living and working in Toronto.
Her main foci as an artist are truth, authenticity and connection.
Rebecca was born in Calgary, Canada. When she was four years old, her family moved to the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. It is here that she fell in love with acting, while taking part in local productions and learning to sing and dance.
In 1997 a civil war erupted in Jakarta, and her family was forced relocate, and they landed in Perth, Western Australia. She enrolled at St. Hilda’s A.G.S., a school with a strong arts program. While at St. Hilda’s, Rebecca studied drama and singing, and took part in every school and local production. She was a member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, performing regularly. She took up theatre sports, and began competing as part of her school’s team. She also competed in many speech and drama exams and competitions, with much success. In her final year, she was appointed the Drama Captain of her school. Since the beginning, Rebecca’s love for acting motivated her forward.
After graduating from High School, Rebecca auditioned for a drama school in Singapore called Lasalle College of the Arts. She was awarded a scholarship, and packed up to follow her dream.
While in Singapore, Rebecca landed the role of Frenchie in the country's first production of Cabaret, The Musical. At Lasalle, Rebecca studied all facets of acting as well as singing, dancing and voice. She graduated with Honours, and embarked on another journey.
Rebecca’s next stop, was London, where she lived for almost three years. In London she performed sketch comedy and dabbled in stand up comedy. She wrote and performed in cabarets, and studied at the Advanced Performers Studio. She performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a experience she will never forget. After three years in London, and twenty years outside of Canada, she decided to move home, and chose Toronto as her city of residence.
Rebecca has been in Toronto since 2011. She has studied with the Second City, The Creative Space and Anthony Meindl's Acting Workshop, and she has acted in a number of commercials, and television shows. She started auditioning as a voice actor, and fell in love with the medium and has now voiced many campaigns, most notably WestJet's brand relaunch in 2018 titled “Love Where You’re Going.”
Rebecca strives to grow as an artist all the time. She has infectious enthusiasm, loves hard work, and takes direction well. She has found her voice, and found her stride. She is going places, and is excited to be on the journey.
